Mark your calendar boys and girls. For the first time ever,
Rasmussen Reports (conservative's favorite poll) lists President Bush's approval rating below 40%.
Sunday April 16, 2006--Thirty-nine percent (39%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That's the lowest level of approval ever measured by Rasmussen Reports.
Sixty percent (60%) disapprove of Bush's job performance, the highest level ever recorded.
(be kind and Recommend so we can share the good news with everyone)

Commenters below appropriately point out that religious conservatives are likely under-represented in Rasmussen's 3-day rolling poll (due to Easter weekend). They are exactly right, but it's still good news.
I'm sure the Repub polsters will spin this exactly the same way. But 39% is hard to ignore. Conservatives have set Rasmussen on a very high pedestal. Rushy and his ilk will either have to explain away the numbers or (more likely) never mention the new polling data at all. I'm not sure which option is sweeter, conservatives actually talking about horrible approval ratings or a voluntary black-out of Rasmussen by the talking heads on the right.
This may be a fun week.

Somehow, this seems appropriate for the Easter Sunday that BushCo
actually turned away "sinners" from the White House. More than disapproving of him as a president, I disapprove of him as a person. Christ (who's day this is, after all) actively welcomed everyone from every walk of life into his fold. To paraphrase Janeane Garofalo, Supporting President Bush isn't a political statement,
supporting President Bush is a character flaw.
